I was an Institute of Eminence (IoE) post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. My research focus is on developing safer, high-performance cathodes and solid electrolytes for sodium (Na)-ion batteries, utilizing computational material science techniques like density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics (MD), and machine learning (ML). Before this role, I worked as a post-doctoral research assistant (PDRA) at Swansea University, collaborating with Dr. Anji Reddy Munnangi to study the structure-property correlations in Na and lithium (Li)-ion ba tteries. This experience significantly shaped my interest in advancing battery technology.
My academic journey includes a Dual Degree (MS & Ph.D.) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, along with a Bachelor’s degree from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), Nuzvid. During my Ph.D., I received the Japan Students Service Organization (JASSO) fellowship and the Intel India Research Fellowship 2020-2021, expanding my research at Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT), Japan, and leading me to an industrial project at Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd, Bengaluru.
Apart from my research, I enjoy playing cricket and shuttle badminton. In my free time, I love watching movies and getting lost in their stories. My goal is to contribute significantly to improving battery technology while cherishing life’s simple pleasures.
After my stint in the group, I joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh, effective November 2024.
